Meet our 6th Annual Havana Nights Gala WalkAide® Recipient, Magnus.
Magnus was born at 26 weeks’ gestation, roughly 3 months ahead of schedule, and spent his first 7 months in neonatal intensive care unit. He suffered a Brain Hemorrhage, a type of stroke, just a few short weeks after birth. He also required heart surgery four months after he was born.
Because of extreme prematurity, Magnus was diagnose with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia, which is a form of chronic lung disease. Magnus is also, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Foot Drop.
Magnus Is A Miracle Child!
At the Gala, Magnus, was looking handsome in his bowtie. He was unable to walk due to blisters caused by the rubbing of the ankle foot orthosis (AFO) on his foot. Because of our Sponsors, Businesses and Donors, Magnus will be able to walk with his own WalkAide®.
Every dollar that is generously donated to the Freedom to Walk Foundation, brings us one step closer to helping a recipient like Magnus to experience the freedom and independence that a WalkAide can provide.
